Sunnyside charities are calling on you

Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer and Sunnyside non-profit groups are cranking up their fundraising efforts to help the less-fortunate over the Christmas/Hanukkah season.
Van Bramer is calling on the community to donate items such as canned food, rice, baby food and formula, as well as cereal. The donation period, which began Nov. 23rd, goes, through to Dec. 10.
Van Bramer’s office dropped off a delivery to St. Teresa’s food pantry for Thanksgiving, which included 400 cans. St Teresa’s food pantry serves 90 families every week. Now his focus is on the Holiday season.
Donations should be dropped off at Van Bramer’s Sunnyside district office at 47-01 Queens Blvd., Suite 205, Monday through Friday. Additionally, donations can also be dropped off at the Sunnyside and Woodside libraries:
•Sunnyside, 43-06 Greenpoint Ave., 718-784-3033.
•Woodside, 54-22 Skillman Ave. 718-429-4700.
